1968 Les Paul Custom Reissue, Light Aged Antique Pelham Blue
Gibson Custom Select 1968 Les Paul Custom Reissue with a light aged nitrocellulose finish, Custombucker pickups, block inlays on an ebony fingerboard, and a ’68 Les Paul neck profile

A Fresh Take on a '68 Custom
The Gibson Custom Select 1968 Les Paul™ Custom Reissue, Murphy Lab Light Aged, Antique Pelham Blue is a unique variation on a classic. Made in small batches by the artisans at the Custom Shop, Gibson Custom Select guitars have handpicked specifications and additional features, making these instruments unique. This guitar has all the key features of a 1968 Les Paul Custom, but with a few modifications like the Murphy Lab Light Aged treatment, Antique Pelham Blue finish, aged nickel hardware, and Custombucker pickups. After the discontinuation of the single cutaway Les Paul in late 1960, the original design of the Les Paul was not found in the Gibson lineup for several years. In the mid-1960s, players like Keith Richards started embracing the single-cutaway Les Paul Standard during the beat boom and the resurgence of electric blues. In 1968, the original design returned in the form of the Les Paul Custom, bringing the legendary shape back into the Gibson lineup.
The Les Paul Custom has always been famed for its distinguished appointments, from the multi-ply binding to the mother-of-pearl inlays. While the 1968 Les Paul Custom is usually dressed in an Ebony finish, Antique Pelham Blue adds some striking new color to the iconic model. Custombucker pickups take the place of the ’68 Custom humbuckers™ that normally come as standard on the 1968 reissue model, and aged nickel hardware takes the place of the standard gold. The neck profile is derived from an original ’68 Les Paul Custom, which measures 0.89 inches at the 1st fret and 1.03 inches at the 12th fret. The whole guitar is given the Murphy Lab Light aging treatment, which has signs of play wear, along with weather checking. Black Witch Hat knobs complete the look, which is a small but distinct detail found on original examples from 1968.
Featuring an Antique Pelham Blue finish, Custombucker pickups, and nickel hardware, this 1968 Les Paul Custom adds a splash of color to this legendary model. On top of all the additional features, this guitar was aged by the Murphy Lab team, making it look like a true vintage example with a unique aesthetic. Included with the guitar is a black case with a yellow interior and a Gibson Custom Certificate of Authenticity.
