Job Summary: The job of the Production Manager will directly supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers, such as inspectors, precision workers, machine setters and operators, assemblers, fabricators, and plant and system operators. This position drives the overall performance of production, safety, quality, LEAN and team development in accordance with company goals. The Production Manager will report to the Facilities Director.

 

 Essential Functions:

  • Leading a diverse and cross-functional team to work in collaborative fashion to meet\exceed company goals
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods, such as supervisors, engineers, support staff, inspectors, and hourly team members
  • Ensuring all team members, team leaders, and supervisors are following standard work and engaging their teams on a daily basis
  • Responsible for setting performance goals that align with organization’s goals and objectives
  • Report daily key performance indicators (KPI) and develop action plans for areas in need of improvement
  • Hold and participate in daily KPI meetings on the floor with staff
  • Responsible for driving Continuous Improvement activities in Safety, Quality, Delivery and LEAN goals
  • Responsible for raw material, labor and Overhead budgets and developing strategies to ensure budget attainment. 
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions and hold team accountable to counter measures
  • Responsible for establishing visual controls for departments in accordance to the organization’s LEAN journey
  • Oversee, coordinate, and execute New Product Introduction in a seamless fashion
  • Responsible for building effective leadership teams comprised of Supervisors and Team Leads
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs

Other:

  • Projects and/or other duties as requested by senior Executive team and General Manager
  • Be an integral member of various project teams to change/improve processes as the company evolves

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • BS degree preferred or equivalent with Engineering degree preferred
  • 5-7 years of Leadership\Managerial experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Woodworking and guitar experience not required
  • Must be able to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and organize workload to meet organizational timelines in a fast paced, very high-growth environment

 

Education and Experience:

  • Solid proficiency in Excel
  • LEAN implementation experience including Kaizen events and visual factory initiatives 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Solutions oriented approach to challenges/issues
  • Solid interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective business partner relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Strong team work and project management skills combined with ability to work as part of a team
