Job Summary: The Continuous Improvement Technician supports all operational excellence efforts in the production facility. The person(s) performing in this role are models for the behaviors and actions that create and sustain a culture of continuous improvement.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Participate, assist, and lead kaizen events to drive system and process improvement
  • Support the implementation of process improvement projects
  • Exhibit and develop a high level of critical thinking skills
  • Proficiently apply and train practical, team-based problem-solving methodology
  • Utilize Leader Standard Work as a basis for structured and organized daily routines
  • Facilitate the adoption of continuous improvement as a way of life; foster positive culture change
  • Demonstrate the ability to apply and train others in the application of lean tools and methodologies
  • Support cooperation, teamwork, and positive working relationships across all functional areas
  • Autonomously identify and eliminate waste in manufacturing processes
  • Display and be able to train lean leadership behaviours 
  • Continuously develop skills and abilities in line with organizational goals

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be familiar working in a high volume and inventory-intensive environment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner
  • Ability to work with vendors and employees at all levels of the organization promptly and professionally
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Knowledge and ability to train others in waste identification
  • Ability to gather facts and analyse problems in depth
  • Ability to support continuous improvement efforts on all shifts

 

Education and Experience:

  • Five years’ experience in a lean manufacturing environment
  • Results oriented and driven, with a track record for delivering to plan.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Microsoft office suite.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to stand all day and lift guitars throughout the day.
