We are seeking an energetic, responsible intern to join our organization and participate in our Summer 2024 internship program. The Brand Management Intern will reports directly to the Gibson USA and Custom Brand Manager and will support the Global Gibson Brand Team in all activities related to managing an iconic and exciting portfolio of brands containing some of the most loved, admired and culturally relevant brands in music history.
The Brand Management Intern will gain comprehensive exposure to all facets of brand management and will execute one major brand management project (owned by intern) and one cross-functional “Intern Cohort Project”, where the Brand Management Intern will collaborate with other interns across functional areas. Additionally, the Brand Management Intern will partner with the Global Brand Management team overseeing the complete portfolio of Gibson brands to experience and execute day-to-day functions within the scope of the brand team. This interns focus will be within Gibson USA and Custom, but exposure and support will be provided to Gibson Acoustic, Epiphone, Kramer, Maestro and Lifestyle & Accessories.
Key Responsibilities
The Undergraduate Brand Management Intern will be a key team member of the Brand Team during the summer of 2024. Interns will be assigned one holistic business opportunity that will allow them to develop an in-depth analysis and guide a strategic recommendation and creative solution to a business problem. The intern will be expected to plan, develop, and outline execution steps for the business recommendation that will culminate with a presentation to the CMO (to whom the Brand department report) and senior leadership team.
Major day-to-day responsibilities (in addition to the intern’s primary project) may include, but are not limited to:
1. Supporting the brand team in developing and implementing brand strategies to enhance market presence and customer engagement
2. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including marketing, design, and sales, to ensure brand consistency across all channels and projects
3. Monitoring and analyzing market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for brand enhancement and product innovations
4. Be a thought-leader in creating strategic direction for the development of marketing collateral, promotional materials, and digital content that align with the brand identity
5. Conduct market research to identify target audiences and communication strategies and tactics to connect with those fans
6. Collaborate with regional functional teams to explore opportunities to tailor brand strategies across regions to expand consumer engagement
7. Support in content creation, presentation building, asset management and proofreading.
