Falcon 5 1x10 Combo Surf Bronco with Bone Grille

Gibson Falcon 5 in Exclusive Surf Bronco
Wrapped in exclusive Surf Bronco vinyl with a Bone grille cloth, the Gibson Falcon 5 1x10 combo amplifier evokes the spirit of the 50s and the 60s thanks to its unique combination of colorway and aesthetic. Inspired by the stylings of Gibson amps from the early 1960s, the Gibson Falcon 5 was designed from the ground up by Randall Smith and the MESA/Boogie® Design Team. The Gibson Falcon 5 is handcrafted in Petaluma, California, with the finest materials and parts available. The result is a compact and deceptively versatile amplifier with modern features that produces vintage-inspired tones from clean to mean.
The exclusive Surf Bronco vinyl and Bone grille cloth add a splash of color to an otherwise understated amplifier with a single-channel design that focuses on great tone and ease of use. The simple control panel features Volume, Tone, and Reverb controls that make it easy to get a great sound straight out of the box. The onboard tube-driven spring reverb is a rare feature on a tube amp of this size and wattage, which further adds to the amp’s vibe and delivers beautiful vintage ambience.
Powered by a single 6V6 power amp tube, the Falcon 5 starts to overdrive at a reasonable volume thanks to its low power output. The amplifier can be cranked up to its sweet spot without peeling the paint off the walls or causing ears to ring, which is ideal for home or studio use. For players on the never-ending search for tonal variety, the supplied 6V6 power amp tube can be swapped for an optional 6L6 without any modifications or additional adjustments necessary. The use of a 6L6 power amp tube comes with a slight boost in power, from seven watts with the 6V6 to eight watts with the 6L6. Use the full and half power switch to find the perfect low-volume territory for your favored application. A trio of 12AX7 preamp tubes are used in the front end of the circuit to add lush harmonics and help shape the tone.
The Falcon 5’s unique voice also comes courtesy of a 10” Jensen® Blackbird 40 Alnico speaker, which produces a mid-focused sound along with a tight low end and shimmering highs. The cabinet plays a pivotal role in the projection and overall sound of the amplifier, which is crafted from marine-grade Baltic birch. Mounted inside at the bottom of the cabinet is the spring reverb tank with send and return routing cables that feed into the back of the amplifier. Also located on the back of the amp is a ¼” Monitor Out that acts as a padded send. This has myriad uses, such as feeding additional power amplifiers that could drive additional cabinets for bigger stage applications or going straight to the mixer for use with external speaker simulators and IRs. This is a contemporary feature that sets the Falcon 5 apart from its vintage and vintage-style counterparts.
Built with a boutique level of attention to detail, the Gibson Falcon 5 delivers vintage-inspired tone with the addition of modern features and flexibility. The Gibson Falcon 5 1x10 Combo is perfect for the player searching for touch-sensitive response at all levels of gain, from edge-of-breakup tones to power-amp overdrive. Included with the amplifier is a fitted slipcover that keeps dust off the control panel, keeping the Falcon 5 pristine while not in use.
