Job Summary: The EHS Specialist is responsible for the day to day at all Nashville locations. Reduce employee injuries and risk by monitoring and evaluating health and safety; assuring compliance with applicable policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, program development, and environmental compliance.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains OSHA compliance and applies knowledge of current policies, regulations, and processes.
- Recommends ergonomic and industrial hygiene improvements which reduce employee risk.
- Completes audits of facilities and equipment to reduce employee hazards.
- Recommend corrective actions related to incident investigation and employee safety observations.
- Maintains environmental compliance (e.g. Title V reports regarding VOC emissions, annual hazardous materials reporting, EPCRA and RCRA compliance etc.)
- Maintains safety programs and conducts appropriate training (e.g. lockout/tagout, hazard communication, PIT, etc.)
- Assist in development of standardized job safety analysis.
- Assist with injury management.
- Execute annual objectives and establish or modify operating policies as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and organize workload to meet organizational timelines in a fast paced, very high growth environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Leadership skills necessary to coach and mentor others; effective supervisory skills with an ability to develop a team, review employee performance, address escalated issues, generate assignments, and set priorities.
- Good analytical and critical thinking skills, with ability to make effective decisions regarding facilities matters.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation, with a track record for delivering to plan.
- Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing circumstances; able to proactively question and challenge to prioritize and identify solutions in timely manner.
- Personable, fun, team oriented.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, engineering, environmental or a related technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years related EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to work with all levels of management.
Physical Demands:
- Occasionally climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs.
- Have the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat, and kneel repetitively.
- Have the ability to walk extensively throughout the facilities.
Travel:
- Travel to local manufacturing locations (within 2 miles) will be required (approximately 40%).
