OVERALL JOB PURPOSE
The purpose of fill is to close up exposed wood grain and gaps in order to create a perfectly smooth guitar to move into the color process. Fill team members will become intimately familiar with model types and color schemes. The Fill process is a key aspect in creating the beautiful signature look of a Gibson Guitar.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities will include:
- Learn and execute standard operating procedures
- Prep guitar as needed for washcoat and spray 1 coat of washcoat over the areas to be filled
- Apply fill using a paintbrush and remove fill with a rag
- Remove fill from tuner hole using a brush or compressed air
- After training is complete, (3 weeks) a Filler will be able to Fill 4 guitars in 1 hour and 32 in an 8 hour shift
- 95% pass rate based on production requirements
- Understands and meets quality standards (Specs.)
- Maintains product flow at appropriate rate
- Adheres to department protocols (5S and Safety)
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Considerable knowledge of model types and color schemes
- Develop a strong understanding of the models
- Strong attention to detail.

- Outstanding time management skillset with the ability to prioritize without direct supervision
