Over 1,500 runners participated in the 10th annual Gibson/Baldwin Piano 5K Run-Walk, which took place on June 9. This year’s winner was Steven Hill, who accepted the first- place award from Olympic runner Jeff Galloway.
With hundreds of supporters to cheer the runners on, the event raised a record-setting $60,000 for St. Patrick Learning Center. Located in Memphis, St. Patrick’s serves one of the nation’s poorest urban communities, where the median household income is a mere $10,000 annually. The center provides a variety of after-school sports and literacy programs to help disadvantaged children living in the area.
