Houston Warp Tour
07.15.2007- CST
Wheeew!
I can't believe last week we covered the entire West Coast! New York was AMAZING! Mom took out the head wound staples, and the big fam was all happy and stuff. The best part was taking my parents on the stage to watch some of Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. So cool. They're the template for any great rock n roll band.
Today you find us in Houston after a postponed Warped show due to rain. CRAZY! THAT NEVER HAPPENS, but the rain and wind and lightning this morning made the setup impossible! Chris and I spent the morning in the downpour holding down the merch tent and hoping for dryness. They finally announced the postponement and we decided to pack up and kill some hotel pre-check-in time at Transformers. Talk about product placement!
There might be rain tomorrow so Warped will take place in the football stadium. Kinda weird and I imagine loud. But at least I won't have to put on slimy sunscreen again! We'll have to drive through the night tomorrow to make it to El Paso, and eat at least one Taco Cabana meal, as it's our fave place to get burritos in Texas.
Heading home for the Troubadour show on the 23rd, which we're really excited about especially since our hometown L.A. radio station, Indie 103, is the absolute best and has started playing "Because I'm Awesome." They rule. After the hometown show we head to NY the next morning for on appearance on FUSE's The Sauce. Can't wait!!!!!! And New York City Indian food is a sweet bonus.
OH and we left little Sniffy in Phoenix with Kevin (Luis' childhood best pal!). It was just TOOOO hOTTTT for the little rat baby! She was panting in the heat; we bought her a personal fan but didn't want to risk the Texas heat. I can't imagine being covered in a fur coat at those temps. PETA would have a fit.
Right this minute I'm gonna catch some nighttime zzzz's (an anomaly lately) and take at least two more showers...despite the show delay being a bummer at least we get a hotel for the night: The Holiday Inn on Kirby in Houston, Room 518.
Hope to see you soon-just posted more U.S. tour dates for August and September!
Luv and damp hugs!

P.S.: Bands on Warped we luv: Nothington and The Gallows are easily the two raddest new bands we've seen. Not to mention Nothington's ability to kill 48 beers in four hours...now that's impressive!
