Hawaii Trip

09.25.2007- CST

Well lets see… Hawaii was absolutely incredible. I did a whole lot of NOTHING. I think we all really needed a breather.

Since returning to planet earth we’ve been quite busy again. We played a Punk Rock Social Live show in the LBC with The Donnas, Donita Sparks (ex L7), and Sassy (Fabulous Disaster). It was SO MUCH FUN! The bands were awesome.

The crowd was awesome. Awesomeness all over the place. Sniffy even had fun. She totally fell in love with Maya, the Donna’s bassist.

On Monday we all went to The Viper Room for the Donna’s CD release and show. Our label-mates Girl In A Coma also played along with our old friends The Randies. It was an extra special show for a number of reasons… 1st one: Morrisey was there to see Girl In A Coma. How cool for them!

2nd one: it was the night of the Donna’s CD release. Extra cool because they decided to release it on their own label!

3rd one: As of midnight it was Luis’ birthday.

So after much excited rocking out a couple fantastic DJ’s blew our minds playing Elastica, the Breeders, and then I don’t know what. You see it was Luis’ birthday. Luis + Birthday = much intoxicated silliness. We started dancing… think kids on a playground swinging each other around in circles… and I "tossed" him onto the empty stage. I guess we were a little wild because we were promptly kicked to the curb. Yep. Kicked out of the Viper Room. Within a few minutes we were being led back inside… pretty hilarious. Ohh but it gets even funnier… A couple days later Luis received a text from Joe, the guy who runs the place asking him to call back… and he was afraid we were in trouble BUT they were just asking us to play a show. TEEEHEE!

For Luis’ birthday we surprised him at our place and sat in a circle visiting, eating, drinking tequila etc. It was perfect.

We don’t get to see much of our friends. I mean we’ve been out on the road since the spring. What little time we’ve had here was usually pretty booked up with press and whatnot. It was a really nice night.

Later in the week we were guests on Dave Navarro’s show "Spread" on Mania TV. The other guest was Dave Faustino from "Married With Children." We performed "Because I’m Awesome" acoustic style and somehow I ended up on the floor. How is that possible you wonder? Well me too. Hopefully someone has posted it on YouTube. Later that night we went to Crash Mansion downtown for a DJ set by DJ Scribbles and Dave Navarro. We’re not used to dance clubs so it was fun. The atmosphere kind of reminded me of a junior high school dance. People never change.

Yesterday we were back downtown to do the "Morning Show" (it was noon) on Little Radio with Alli. The show’s called under the influence and she got it right with the songs she played. Oh and it’s really cool because they play vinyl there! Yep. The interview was a nice change we talked about a lot of things we just usually don’t get around to bringing up. More substance, less silly.

As far as my personal life goes… I’m cleaning my closet and repainting my living room, spending as much time as possible with friends, and cooking. Oh and I saw that M. Night Shamalan movie "The Village" and really liked it. Been eating healthy and relaxing in preparation for starting another tour Friday.

This week’s pretty crazy… Monday listen for us on Hunny Pot Radio and got to Spaceland and see The Spores and Graham Rabbit. We’re also doing new pics! WhoooHOOO! Guess I should go do some stuff.
